Deductions from wages under Section 125 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006:
As per section-125(BLA-2006),
(1) No deduction shall be made from the wages of a worker except those authorized by or under this Act.
(2) Deductions from the basic wages of a worker shall be made only in accordance with the provisions of this Act, and such deductions shall be of the following kinds only, namely: —
(Ka) Fines imposed under section 25;
(Kha) Deductions for absence from duty without leave;
(Ga) Deductions for damage to or loss of goods expressly entrusted to the worker for custody, or for loss of money for which he is required to account, where such damage or loss is directly attributable to his neglect or default;
(Gha) Deductions for house-accommodation supplied by the employer;
(Uma) Deductions for such amenities and services supplied by the employer as the Government may, by general or special order, authorize (excluding raw materials and tools necessary for employment);
(Cha) Deductions for recovery of advances or loans, or for adjustment of over-payments of wages;
(Chha) Deductions of income tax payable by the worker;
(Ja) Deductions required to be made by order of a Court or other authority competent to make such order;
(Jha) Deductions for subscriptions to, and for repayment of advances from, any provident fund to which the Provident Funds Act, 1925 (Act No. 19 of 1925) applies, or any recognized provident fund as defined in the Income Tax Act, 1984 (Act No. 36 of 1984), or any other provident fund authorized by the Government;
(Eua) Deductions for payments to any cooperative society approved by the Government or to a scheme of insurance maintained by the Bangladesh Post Office or any Government insurance company;
(Ta) Deductions made with the written consent of the worker for subscriptions to any fund or scheme constituted or framed by the employer with the approval of the Government for the welfare of the workers or the members of their families; and
(Tha) Deductions for subscriptions to a CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent) union through the check-off system.
