Rooms for Children under Section 94 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006:
As per section-94 of BLA-2006,
(1) In every establishment where 40 (forty) or more female workers are ordinarily employed, there shall be provided and maintained a suitable room or rooms for the use of children under the age of 6 (six) years belonging to such women.
(2) Such rooms shall provide adequate accommodation, lighting, and ventilation, and shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. The room shall be under the charge of a woman trained or experienced in the care of children and infants.
(3) Such rooms shall be easily accessible to the mothers of the children. As far as reasonably practicable, they shall not be situated near any part of the establishment that emits obnoxious smoke, dust, or odors, or where excessively noisy work is carried on.
(4) Such rooms shall be solidly constructed, and all walls and roofs shall be made of suitable heat-resisting materials and must be waterproof.
(5) The height of such rooms shall not be less than 360 cm (centimeters) from the floor to the lowest part of the roof, and there shall be at least 600 square centimeters of floor space provided for each child staying there. (Note: While the text says 600 sq. cm, standard international practice or specific rules often imply a larger area; however, this is the literal translation of your text.
(6) Effective and suitable provision shall be made for adequate light and the circulation of fresh air in every part of such rooms.
(7) Such rooms shall be adequately furnished. Specifically, there shall be one cot or cradle with bedding for every child. At least one chair or similar seat shall be provided for the use of each mother while she is breastfeeding or attending to her child. Additionally, a supply of suitable toys shall be provided for the older children.
(8) There shall be a suitable fenced and shaded open-air playground for the older children:
Provided that, the Chief Inspector may, by order in writing, exempt any establishment from the provisions of this sub-section if he is satisfied that the establishment does not have sufficient space to provide such a playground.
