Right to receive maternity benefit and the responsibility for provision under Section 46

(1) Every female worker shall be entitled to receive maternity welfare benefit from her employer for the period of (60 days) immediately preceding the probable date of her confinement and for the period of (60 days) immediately following her confinement, and her employer shall be bound to provide her with this benefit:
Provided that no female shall be entitled to receive such benefit unless she has worked under her employer for a period of not less than six months immediately preceding her confinement.
(2) No female shall be entitled to receive such benefit if she has two or more surviving children at the time of her confinement, but in this case, she shall be entitled to any leave she may be eligible for.
