Penalty for payment of wages at a rate below the minimum rate of wages under Section 289 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006:
If any employer pays a worker wages at a rate lower than the minimum rate of wages declared under Chapter Eleven, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with a fine which may extend to Minimum 20(Twenty) Thousand taka to maximum 50 (Fifty) Thousand taka or with both.
