Prohibitions and Restrictions on Child and Adolescent Employment under Section 34 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006
34) (1) No child shall be employed or permitted to work in any occupation or establishment.
(2) No adolescent shall be employed or permitted to work in any occupation or establishment, unless-
(a) a certificate of fitness granted to him by a registered medical practitioner in the form prescribed by rules is in the custody of the employer; and
(b) while at work, he carries a token containing a reference to such certificate.
(3) Nothing in sub-section (2) shall apply to the employment of an adolescent as an apprentice or for vocational training in any occupation or establishment.
(4) If the Government is of the opinion that an emergency exists and that it is necessary in the public interest, the Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, suspend the application of sub-section (2) for the period specified therein.
