(1) If any worker desires to take leave (holiday), they shall apply in writing to their employer, and this application shall include the address where they will be staying during the period of leave.
(2) The employer or any authorized officer on their behalf shall issue their order within seven days of receiving such application, or two days before the start of the leave, whichever occurs earlier.

(3) If the requested leave is sanctioned, a leave pass shall be given to the concerned worker.
(4) If the requested leave is refused or postponed, the worker concerned shall be informed of the refusal or postponement order, along with the reason for it, before the date on which the requested leave was to commence, and this shall be recorded in a register maintained for this purpose.
(5) If any worker, after proceeding on leave, wishes to extend the duration of the leave, they shall, if leave is due, apply in writing to the employer, by registered post [within a reasonable time] before the expiry of the leave. The employer shall grant or refuse the application for leave extension and inform the worker in writing at the worker's leave address...
