International Accounting standard(IAS-List) |
International Accounting Standards (IAS) are a set of accounting principles and guidelines issued by the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) to standardize and harmonize accounting practices globally.
The purpose of IAS is to ensure transparency, consistency, and comparability of financial statements across different countries.
These standards were later replaced by the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in 2001, but many IAS remain in effect and are part of the IFRS framework today.
They cover various accounting topics, including revenue recognition, financial statement presentation, and asset valuation.
