Service book under Section 6 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006:
As per section-6 (BLA-2006),
(1) Every employer shall, at their own expense, provide a service book for every worker employed by them.
(2) Every service book shall remain in the custody of the employer.
(3) Before employing any worker, the employer shall demand their previous service book if the worker claims to have previously worked under another employer.
(4) If the said worker has a service book, they shall hand it over to the new employer, and the new employer shall provide a receipt and keep the service book in their custody.
(5) If the said worker does not have a service book, one must be provided in accordance with sub-section (1).
(6) If any worker wishes to maintain a copy of the service book for themselves, they may do so at their own expense.
(7) At the time of termination of a worker's service, the employer shall return their service book to them.
(8) If a worker loses the returned service book or their copy of the service book, the employer shall provide them with a duplicate copy at the worker's expense.
(9) Nothing in this section shall apply to any apprentice, badly (substitute), or casual worker.
