Retirement Procedures of a worker under Section 28 | Bangladesh Labor Act -2006:
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Act, a worker employed in any establishment shall retire naturally from service upon attaining the age of 60 (sixty) years.
(2) For the purposes of this section, the date of birth recorded in the concerned worker's Service Book shall be considered as the appropriate proof for verifying the age.
(3) All dues payable to a retiring worker under the provisions of section 26(4) or as per the establishment's own service rules shall be paid.
Provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in this sub-section, in the case of tea industry workers, the existing retirement benefits and other prevailing facilities applicable to them shall remain in effect.
(4) The authority may, if deemed appropriate, subsequently appoint any retiring worker on a contractual basis.
